Kid Cudi is featured on the cover of this month's Esquire magazine, and in the interview, which was conducted in June, Cudi spoke about his fallout with Kanye West.
While speaking about Kanye, Cudi started off stating, "I’m not one of your kids," He then added, "I'm not Kim. It don't matter if I'm friends with Pete [Davidson] or not friends with Pete. None of this sh*t had anything to do with me. If you can’t be a grown man and deal with the fact that you lost your woman? That’s not my f**king problem."
Kid Cudi is referring to Kanye slamming him back in February for being friends with Pete Davidson, who was dating Kim Kardashian at the time. Kanye shared a post of him and Cudi with the "Day 'n' Nite" rapper's face crossed out, which Kanye captioned, ""I JUST WANTED MY FRIEND TO HAVE MY BACK. THE KNIFE JUST GOES IN DEEPER." Kanye later added on Twitter, "JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS CUDI WILL NOT BE ON DONDA BECAUSE HE'S FRIENDS WITH YOU KNOW WHO."
During his Esquire interview, Kid Cudi revealed what it would take to reconcile with Kanye, stating, "With all due respect, I'm not Drake, who's about to take a picture with him next week and be friends again, and their beef is squashed. That's not me. What I say, I mean. I will be done with you. It's gonna take a motherf***ing miracle for me and that man to be friends again. I don't see it happening. He gon' have to become a monk."
