On Wednesday, a Michigan-based rapper named Cliff Mac (aka Clifton E. Terry III) was indicted for an alleged murder-for-hire scheme where the 31-year-old reportedly offered a hitman by the name of Andre D. Sims $10,000 to execute a woman from Sterling Heights. The murderous plan unfolded on November 27, 2020, one day after Thanksgiving, when Sims traveled to Cliff Mac's hometown of Flint to procure a vehicle to commit the crime in. From there, Sims drove the car to the victim's place of residence in Sterling Heights to complete the task during the early morning hours of November 28th. According to prosecutors, Sims stalked his victim momentarily before she emerged from her home and shot her multiple times as she made her way to her car. Unfortunately for Cliff Mac and Andre D. Sims, their victim survived. In addition, their murder attempt was captured on video by nearby surveillance cameras. Upon picking up Sims from a nearby apartment complex, after the murder attempt, Cliff Mac agreed to pay Sims $2,500 of the $10,000 initially promised because the murder attempt was unsuccessful.
Local authorities eventually caught up with both men, and they were subsequently arrested. Cliff Mac has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder for hire, murder-for-hire resulting in personal injury, and using a firearm as well as using a firearm during (and in relation to) a crime of violence. The "King of Flint" rapper now faces the possibility of serving up to 25 years in prison along with a maximum fine of $250,000. This arrest comes nearly a year after Cliff Mac was reportedly involved in the infamous "Eagle Ridge Apartment Murder" in Flint, Michigan.
