Previously, Fat Joe posted a video that paid homage to Latino pioneers in hip-hop culture. The video found the rapper facing backlash for posting the video, which led the rapper to respond.
On Instagram Live, Fat Joe addressed the matter and went on to say, “Lately, they've been talking about, 'Latinos wasn't in rap.' These guys are f**king delusional.” Joe then spoke about his time coming up in the Bronx, saying, “When hip-hop started, it's Latinos and blacks-- half and half. But they going at him because I’m the only Spanish dude with a big voice.” Haters were acknowledged in Joe’s clap back, with the rapper pointing out that people told him, “F**k that... Latinos wasn't there, you were invited... You're a specimen.” Joe fired back by noting Latinos are very much a part of the early narrative of hip hop. Watch above.
