Update 08/30/2022 7:53pm:

On Tuesday morning, footage of a fight between the two former members of a rap duo called ABN, Trae Tha Truth, and Z-Ro, went viral. The physical altercation took place after 50 Cent's celebrity basketball game in Houston, and it appeared as though Z-Ro had been jumped by a group of Trae's associates while he was all by his lonesome. TMZ caught up with the Houston-based rapper on Tuesday after so that he could provide fans with more context as to what led to the scuffle.

"I'm minding my business, and when I walked outside, I'm called over to the side of a sprinter van," Z-Ro recalled. "And he was like 'aye when you get finished doing that, come take this walk with me right quick.' And I was like, 'You talking to me?' And he said, 'Yeah, I'm talking to you.' So, when I walked over there, the only thing I saw was this (he then presses his fist against his cheek)...And then [I] feel multiple fists and I guess feet. So, when the video comes on, it's me making sure that I'm not gonna go home looking like I just fought a football team. So, I [cover myself up on the ground] and when I get up off of the ground, now I see who it is."

Z-Ro goes on to explain that the reason why he approached the man in the van in the first place was so that he could engage in a cordial conversation with his former bandmate in order to hash out their differences in a non-violent way.

"I thought it was a conversation that needed to be had for the last decade...I would have appreciated the conversation. I was made to believe I was going over there to have a conversation and then when I get over there, it was a sneak attack...It's a lot of people upset about this and strangley, I'm not upset at all but I think people in the streets are taking it harder than I'm taking it."

Original 08/30/2022 1:25pm:

On Saturday night in Houston, 50 Cent's non-profit organization, the G-Unity Foundation, teamed up with the Student Government Association (From the University of Houston) to present the city of Houston with a celebrity basketball game. The event was held at the Fertitta Center in Houston, Texas, around 7pm. What began as a celebratory occasion during the heralded occurrence known as the "Tycoon Houston Comedy Music Fest," ended in a scabble between Trae Tha Truth, his brother Jayton and Z-Ro. Footage obtained from the altercation shows Z-Ro kneeling in a fetal position as a man stands over him, delivering blows.

Z-Ro appeared to be by himself and greatly outnumbered, but that didn't stop him from rising to his feet after the punches were thrown and advancing toward Trae's crew while appearing unfazed by the punches that we just delivered. Luckily, the police were able to intervene before the situation escalated. Thus far, no arrests or major injuries have been reported. Information on how the fight started is scarce. It's important to note that Trae Tha Truth and Z-Ro used to be a part of a rap duo called ABN (A*sholes by Nature).
