Tyrese Gibson's high-profile divorce from Samantha Lee Gibson has placed a spotlight squarely on the R&B veteran's finances. Tyrese has a net worth of $6 million, so his ex-wife is asked the judge that presided over their case to order him to pay her $20K per month as a part of a child support package to take care of their only child, Sonyaya (3). Initially, Tyrese asked the judge for no spousal support. With so much money at stake, tensions reached a boiling point in the courtroom once the judge began to analyze Tyreses's income for 2018, pointing out that the singer/model/actor earned over $2 million, despite his claim that he had encountered "financial ruin." This prompted somewhat of a snarky response from Tyrese, "Sir, I'm asking you because I don't do the CFO thing. Here's a question to you, smart person ..."
The judge abruptly interrupted the Watts native and responded to his remark with a stern warning.
"That's enough! Go sit down! We're taking a break now...If you do it again, I'm going to hold you in contempt. You don't ask questions! That's not how this works!"
In the end, the judge ruled that Tyrese must pay Samantha $10K per month in child support.
