According to reports, battle rapper Pat Stay has passed away at the age of 36.
The rapper was reportedly the victim of a fatal stabbing that took place early Sunday in Halifax, located in Nova Scotia. The news was confirmed by Stay’s brother Peter, and police noted they were called to the scene were the stabbing took place. Stay was taken to a hospital, where he later passed away, according to reports.
Stay was known for his impact within the battle rap world, as he frequented spaces like URL and more. Stay was heralded by many in the battle world, including supporters like Drake, with Stay winning a battle put on by Drake in 2015. When speaking about Stay in the past, Drake said “Pat Stay's definitely one of, if not, the best.”
