In this clip, Dr. Myron Rolle spoke about his decision to go to Florida State University, where he knew he would get more opportunities and exposure. Dr. Rolle was also intrigued by FSU speaking about wanting to help him win the Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University. During his first visit, Dr. Rolle spoke about having a great experience, including the then-governor of Florida, Jeb Bush, and other notable people in the state encouraging him to play there. From there, Dr. Rolle spoke about being the #1 high school prospect to being low in the NFL draft, and he admitted it was difficult to wrap his mind around because of his successful college career. Dr. Rolle explained that he had a lot of good momentum going into the NFL, and he was being predicted to be a first-round pick. However, he decided to go to Oxford through the Rhodes Scholarship, where he got his degree in medical anthropology. After returning to the States, Dr. Rolle spoke about being a sixth-round draft to the Tennessee Titans, where he got a $50,000 signing bonus instead of the predicted $7 million. Despite the drastic difference, Dr. Rolle admitted that he would always choose education over football. When asked about being picked toward the end of the list in the draft, Dr. Rolle admitted that he was worried that he wouldn’t be drafted.
