Warren G recently made an appearance on ‘Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson’ and revealed a moment involving Suge Knight that caused him to decline a collaboration with Tupac.
The rapper was asked if there was anyone who blocked him from seeing 2Pac, with the rapper responding by saying, “We didn't get a chance to link up after he got out—actually, I seen him one time when he got out.”
The rapper then explained his initial exchange with Tupac, saying, “We was in the House of Blues and he hugged me like, 'Warren!' We was huggin' for a lil' bit and then he hit me a few days after that and he was telling me let's get in the studio, I'ma book some time. But a particular situation had happened right before that to where I was like, you know what, I'm not gettin' ready to be—I'm not gon go out, and you know, I ain't just ready to step out there.” Warren G then laid out what happened before seeing Tupac at that moment, saying Suge Knight sent goons to the studio where he, Snoop Dogg, and others were having a session. Upon the goons' arrival, a man confronted Warren over alleged comments he claimed the rapper made about Knight.
Warren G denied the claims, and his exchange with Suge Knight resulted in his chain getting snatched. Warren noted he had a pistol on him at the time, saying, “I ain't gon' lie, I wanted to pull [it] out and start bussin', but I had to think because it was a bunch of dudes right here outside of the door, bunch of police that was workin' at the same time around that time, so I was in a f**ked up situation.”
Warren G was able to get the chain back due to a friend and noted Tupac called him to get in the studio again, the same one where everything just happened. Warren G rejected Tupac’s suggestion and said he would book a new spot. However, that session never went down. Watch above.
