Update 09/12/2022 11:51am:
Previously, it was speculated that there were issues between T.I. and 50 Cent after the two exchanged words while T.I. was on the hunt for a person to face off against in ‘Verzuz.’ From there, ‘Power Book II’ cast members Michael Rainey Jr. and Gianni Paolo speculated that T.I. was supposed to play Method Man’s lawyer character from the series but that there may have been beef with 50 that prevented the role from happening. Now, T.I. has denied the claims made.
While on Tony The Closer’s podcast, T.I. sat down and spoke about various topics, including if he had issues with 50 Cent. The rapper said rumors that he was cast as the lawyer Davis Maclean on the ‘Power’ series is false and that he and 50 have much respect between them.
The rapper said, “50 and I, we were executive producers on a different show outside of the Power universe. But nah, me and 50 cool. I think I'm the only one who is not offended by his brash approach, and he's not offended by mine. So, you know, we play rough but ain't no issue. It's a mutual respect, though.” Watch above.

Over the course of the past eight years, 50 Cent has become one of the most influential TV executive producers in Black Hollywood. Since the debut of his hit series Power back in 2014, the Grammy-award-winning rapper has parlayed his success with the STARZ network into a fictional universe with three successful spin-off shows. The first of which is a series called Power Book II: Ghost. This crime drama follows the life of Tariq St. Patrick (played by Michael Rainey Jr.), the only son of a character nicknamed "Ghost" from the original series, and his best friend, Brayden Weston (played by Gianni Paolo), as they slowly build their drug empire while in college. The two actors are good friends in real life, and they were recently approached by a camera operator at TMZ, who asked them to share some insight about the upcoming season of Power Book II: Ghost. The impromptu Q&A session started off playful, but once the actors started sharing information about their TV show, they began to spill the beans about a pivotal casting choice from their boss, 50 Cent. According to the guys, the role of a lawyer-character named Davis Maclean was originally supposed to be given to Atlanta-based rapper T.I., but due to a quarrel with 50 Cent, he was swapped out for Method Man.
"I heard T.I. was supposed to play Method Man's character," Paolo said. "And then, I don't know if there was a beef or something happened but then he never wound up playing him and Method was Davis Maclean."
"When was this?" Asked the TMZ camera operator.
"Early in the production, like before we started filming, obviously," Rainey answered.
"And you don't know if it was [because of] a beef with 50?" Asked the TMZ camera operator.
"I don't know what the case might have been," Rainey said.
"It was probably a beef with 50," the TMZ camera operator replied.
"I think so! We showed up, and then Method was there, and that was really it, they didn't tell us anything," Paolo added.
"Dang! Do you think T.I. would have been better than Method Man?" Asked the TMZ camera operator.
"No chance," replied Paolo.
