Sunday marked the 21st anniversary of the infamous 9/11 attack carried out on American soil by the Islamic extremist group known as the Al-Queda Network. The most iconic imagery from that horrendous day was the footage of two passenger flights crashing into the world trade center in New York City. In the aftermath of the atrocities, about 3,000 Americans were killed. On that day, JT of the City Girls was only eight years old. So, yesterday when the chart-topping rapper sent out a frivolous tweet about blowing up the neighboring state of New Jersey, it may have been somewhat understandable that the ironic timing of the message may have slipped her mind.

"Im sliding through New York, Finna go & blow New Jersey up!!!!"

Some have speculated that the tweet was in reference to a nation-wide tour that JT is currently participating in with fellow City Girls member, Yung Mami. While others have stated that the JT was simply refering to a famous line from Cheif Keef's song called "Faneto." But that didn't stop the users on Twitter for slamming the 29-year-old for being insensitive.

"You can’t say this on 9/11 girl," replied a user.

"The FBI should investigate you NOW for such an ill-advised remark: Review the ten commandments: "Thou shall Not Kill," added another user.

As the condemnation continued to pour in, another commentator compared JT's message to a tweet that Demi Levato sent out on 9/11 of 2015, when she infamously stated, "About to put this airline on BLAST," before later apologizing. To that, the Florida-based emcee seemingly addressed her critics with a follow-up tweet saying, "Okay I’m gone now, if anybody have a problem call 1800-EAT-DICK."
