In December 2021, hip hop faced a tragic loss as rising rapper Drakeo The Ruler was killed at his show. Since then, the rapper's estate has been handling his affairs, and now an old landlord is attempting to collect back rent and damages allegedly owed by the late rapper.
Oliver Omidvar filed legal documents saying he rented an apartment to Drakeo in June 2021 for $14,500 per month. He noted he stopped receiving payments for the place a month after the rapper was killed while outside the Once Upon A Time in LA festival.
Along with that, Omidvar’s suit says the property was severely damaged, with skylights, electronics, and more being pretty messed up. Because of the damage, the man claims thousands of dollars were put towards fixing the place, with painting, new drywall, and plumbing services being required.
The landlord is asking for $104,542.60 from the late rapper's estate for damages and rent.
