Fat Joe called out Irv Gotti after the producer's comments about Ashanti, detailing an alleged romantic experience with the singer while calling her a b***h during the interview. Ultimately, Joe called Gotti a “sucka.” Since then, Irv Gotti fired back at Joe, saying Joe wasn’t his friend. The two have reportedly patched things up, but Fat Joe has spoken about why he felt like he had to defend Ashanti against Gotti’s comments.

While on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Fat Joe said, “If you’re my sis, if you’re Remy Ma, you’re Ashanti, you’re my sis.” He continued, “no matter how much I love a person, I cannot sit there this man disrespect my sister… I feel like a sucker if I don’t address it now.”

Fat Joe said Irv is not his friend, he’s his brother. He noted he didn’t want to bring harm to Gotti, but seeing him make the comments about Ashanti made him feel crazy. From there, Joe said he and Irv’s spat brought out a bunch of Irv Gotti haters, something he wasn’t prepared for, and doesn’t agree with. Watch above.
