An Inglewood-based rapper by the name of Half Ounce (aka Latauriisha O’Brien) was fatally gunned down on Monday night in a neighborhood of Los Angeles County known as Koreatown. The tragic incident happened while he was walking down the street, talking to his wife on the phone. According to reports, the shooter pulled up to the 700 block of South New Hampshire Avenue in a dark SUV around 11:30 pm. From there, he let out about 7 to 30 rounds of gunfire before fleeing the scene. When the Los Angeles Police Department arrived, they discovered Half Ounce lying inside a planter box on the ground, near an apartment complex, after having been shot multiple times. The "Gangbangin" rapper was pronounced dead on the scene. Thus far, the LAPD has not identified the suspect or the motive behind the killing. The search is ongoing.
The 33-year-old victim leaves behind three children and a fourth that was due in March of 2023.
