A Durham-based rapper named 'Lil Tony (aka Antonio Davenport) has been sentenced to life in prison for his role as the shooter in a botched drive-by shooting that resulted in the death of a 9-year-old named Z'yon Person, who had been killed by accident. According to reports, the deadly shooting from 2019 was directly related to a gang war between two rival groups in the area, and it stemmed from a chain-snatching incident.

On the night of the shooting, Lil Tony and his associates were reportedly cruising around looking for the assailants when they opened fire on a green Ford Explorer that they mistakenly identified. The bullets ended up hitting Z'yon, who was traveling with his family on the way to get snow cones from a dessert store called 'Pelicans SnoBalls.' The shooting resulted in Z'yon's murder and 'Lil Tony's arrest.

On Tuesday, a judge sentenced 'Lil Tony to life in prison for murder. He was also levied with an additional ten years for racketeering and federal gun charges.
