In this clip, Isaiah Washington spoke about working on “Romeo Must Die,” which was Aaliyah’s first movie. Isaiah then addressed rumors that Aaliyah checked him for saying something homophobic on the set, which he said was completely untrue. Isaiah explained that he remembered Aaliyah being “so happy” at this time in her life, and he went on to tell a story about Aaliyah clowning him for not knowing how to put a tape in a Mercedes. He added that he remembers Aaliyah saying, “If I died today, I’d be fine. I’ve done everything that I wanted to do.” Isaiah explained that he avoids saying things like that, and he was caught off guard that it seemed like she was ready to go. Isaiah added that he had a crush on Aaliyah, and he stated that he could see how people could fall in love with her.
