The hypothetical dinner with a mogul or a lump sum of money debate went viral after rapper Jim Jones wrote on Instagram, "A million in cash or a convo wit @diddy I always take the convo somethings are priceless [sic]."
Jim's famous friends even chimed in on the conversation, with Gillie Da Kid telling him, "N***a u trippin take da cash jimmy." HipHopDX shared a post about the story, which led to Diddy weighing in himself, writing, "I would take the million! I ain't gonna lie!"
This comes after the viral Twitter debate of 2021, where people were asked whether they’d have dinner with billionaire hip-hop mogul Jay-Z or take $500,000. As the debate blew up online, many believed that Jay himself responded after the Twitter page for Tidal, the music streaming company Jay owns a portion of tweeted, "Take the $500K."
