In this clip, Isaiah Washington spoke about being in “Hollywood Homicide” with Harrison Ford, which he said was the “last straw” for him because he was being typecast. Isaiah explained that he was working for less money and more time on movies, and he wasn’t feeling his character “being thrown in the dumpster by Han Solo.” He explained that the movie was sold to him as a film based on the book “LAbryrinth,” which investigated the murders of 2Pac and Biggie, as well as corruption in the LAPD. Isaiah explained that he was supposed to be playing a character based on Diddy, and he added that Suge Knight threatened the director, Ron Shelton, which changed the whole trajectory of the movie. Isaiah explained that it went from being a serious movie to a comedy, and he went on to speak about Suge coming to the premiere and staying 10 minutes before leaving. Isaiah went on to speak about Harrison Ford being in a bad space while filming the movie, and he added that Ford’s co-star, Josh Hartnett, wanted to fight him.
The actor was later asked about “Grey’s Anatomy,” and Isaiah stated that the cast and studio didn’t want him there because they wanted an all-white cast. He spoke about getting multiple awards for his role on the show, and Isaiah said the role was everything that he wanted since becoming an actor. Isaiah then stated that people don’t know a lot about him aside from headlines, and he went on to speak about coming back to Grey’s for one episode. He explained that they made $40 million in one night, and Isaiah spoke about how he did more for that show after coming back in one night.
Finally, Isaiah Washington reflected back on playing a character based on John Allen Muhammad (the D.C. Sniper) in the independent film "Blue Caprice." As the segment moved along, Isaiah shared some of his research on the "D.C. Sniper" with DJ Vlad, such as his intent to create a group of child soldiers and a dedicated camp like John Jones, his background in the military, and what led to him being killed (although Isaiah believes he may still be alive and working with the CIA). Later in the interview, Isaiah shared how playing the role of the "D.C. Sniper" affected his marriage by stating that he got stuck in the role, like 2Pac got stuck in the role of Bishop from "Juice."
