In this clip, Vlad started off speaking to Isaiah Washington about Lil Duval speaking about wanting to be warned about the gay sex scenes in “P-Valley,” and Isaiah pointed out that the show is groundbreaking. Vlad then spoke about actor J. Alphonse, who plays “Lil Murda” on the show, catching backlash for a skit on a podcast that was deemed homophobic. Isaiah explained that things are often taken out of context in today’s climate, and Isaiah also spoke about agents telling him that he would never work again after playing a gay man. Isaiah then spoke about being offered a lot of gay roles, and he also reacted to Vlad pointing out that he has been steadily acting for 30 years, and Isaiah explained that he’s said “no” to more roles than saying “yes.” When asked if he had any regrets about turning down roles, Isaiah explained that he was asked to be in Lone Star, directed by John Sayles, and he added that he turned it down because it didn’t make sense. During the conversation, Isaiah explained why he doesn’t think that winning an Oscar creates a great movie. He then spoke about starring in an upcoming Lee Daniels movie called “The Deliverance,” and Isaiah predicted that he’ll be nominated.
