In this clip, De’Aundre Bonds spoke about the murder of Black teen Latasha Harlins, which led to the L.A. Riots in the early 90s. Bonds pointed out that Harlins’ killer, a Korean shop owner, was found not guilty by the judge in the case. De’Aundre explained that juries are supposed to decide the fate of a case, not a judge, and he added that he was frustrated when he heard the verdict as a teenager himself. De’Aundre then spoke about being involved in the riots, and he explained that nothing has changed in the justice system since the 1990s. He added that he participated for three days until the National Guards came in with tanks.
