Footage surfaced of a man fighting for his life against a bear that tried to attack him while he was climbing a mountain.
The situation went down at Mt. Futago in Japan, where the climber could be seen scaling the rocky terrain before a bear seemingly tried to charge at him. It was noting the bear was trying to protect a cub. When the bear lunged at the man, he was able to move and push the bear away from him. That didn’t stop the bear from returning, though, as the animal tried to lunge at the man again. However, the bear was met with a barrage of kicks and punches to the head.
Eventually, the bear could be seen running off with its cub into the brush nearby. According to TMZ, the climber said he was the one who went into the bear’s territory but had no choice but to defend himself.
