Eight years ago, Fetty Wap released "Trap Queen," a melodic trap song that would eventually sell over 10 million records domestically. In the years that followed, the diamond-selling rapper's career began to decline, and his legal issues began to pile up. Thus, Fetty Wap was arrested by the FBI on federal drug charges approximately one year ago. Music by the incarnated artists still holds a place in the hearts of many hip hop fans, so when Fetty Wap finally released an audio message to his supporters via Hip Hop DX, from behind bars, the overall response was heartfelt.

“What’s good, man, you already know it’s your boy Fetty Wap 1738, you heard,” Fetty Wap said. “I just want to thank all the fans, you feel me. All the fans showing me love, sending all the reels and the stories and everything and all the tags, photos, and everything like that.”

Fetty Wap faces a minimum of five years in prison.
