Update 10/28/2022 3:41pm:
Lil Durk had a case dropped by the D.A. against him from a 2019 arrest for a shooting in Georgia. At one point, Durk was facing five felonies which included weapons and assault charges. Now, it appears the rapper is being sued for $350,000 over a concert he was supposed to be at in the Bahamas but could not attend due to the alleged shooting.
A lawsuit by promoters says they worked out a deal with Durk, sending the rapper $24,000 in payments upfront. Durk reportedly never made it to the show because he was denied entry to the country due to pending felony charges stemming from the 2019 shooting.
The promoters from a company called Fresh Entertainment claim that Durk has kept the money they gave him since then and has denied the possibility of rescheduling the show. They allege that Durk tried to get $200,000 more out of them if they wanted him to reschedule the show. Fresh Entertainment is suing the rapper for breach of contract, asking for $350,000 and what they spent on putting the concert together.
Durk’s lawyer Ariel Mitchell issued a statement on the matter, saying: “The frivolous lawsuit filed by Plaintiff and its attorneys is being publicized in an attempt to usurp the news of Mr. Bank’s exoneration from the 2019 charges to extort a payday. The lawsuit has no merit as it was the Plaintiff’s own failure to secure a visa which caused denial of entry by immigration. Further, we are confident this lawsuit will be immediately dismissed for several procedural errors. Mr. Banks looks forward to traveling the globe on tour in the near future.”
