In this clip, Chingy spoke about the name behind “Right Thurr,” and he explained that it comes from the way people talk in St. Louis. From there, Shawn Prez asked Chingy how it felt to have his first breakout song be a monster hit, and Chingy pointed out that he was 22 when the song dropped. Chingy explained that he focused on catchy hooks when he was a kid, and he added that he had that same mindset while making “Right Thurr.” While speaking about his first song being a hit, Chingy revealed that older artists that he looked up to looked down on him. Chingy then added that there are a lot of artists being cloned today, and he pointed out that it’s better to be authentic so you stand out.
