According to reports, a 30-year-old man named Ernest Lacour was arrested after being accused of intentionally infecting numerous women with HIV.
Police began an investigation after evidence surfaced noting Lacour knew he was HIV-positive during sexual interactions. Lacour was reportedly diagnosed with HIV in 2019, which was revealed by police who obtained the man’s medical records.
One unnamed woman who was a victim of Lacour spoke to Fox25 and delivered a warning to others. The woman said “It’s a deadly disease, but you can still live your life. I don’t have AIDS and I still have a life to live.” The woman noted she started having sex with Lacour in 2021, and went to the doctor after she got sick, saying “I would get so lightheaded that I would have these episodes and throw up for weeks.”
Lacour was charged with three counts of knowingly engaging in conduct to transfer HIV.
