According to reports, former heavyweight boxer Goran Gogic, 43, was arrested after being indicted on drug trafficking charges after federal authorities say he trafficked over 20 tons of cocaine through U.S. ports.

Gogic was nabbed by the feds while boarding a plane at Miami International Airport. He was charged with three counts of violating the federal Maritime Drug Law Enforcement Act, and one count of conspiracy and faces a mandatory minimum 10-year sentence and up to life in prison.

Per CBS News, "The charges stem from the three seizures of cocaine, most notably 19.8 tons from a cargo ship while it was docked at Philadelphia's Packer Avenue Marine Terminal in 2019. At the time, Ivan Durasevic, the ship's second mate, and Fonofaavae Tiasaga were arrested in the bust. The ship was on its way to the Netherlands."

“This arrest and indictment speak volumes of the tremendous coordination between law enforcement partners to stop individuals such as Gogic from using our waterways to distribute illegal drugs throughout the world,” said New York State Police Acting Superintendent Steven Nigrelli.
