Recently, various legendary artists were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, including Dolly Parton, Pat Benatar, Carly Simon, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Lionel Richie, and Eminem.
While on stage, Eminem was seen performing with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and was brought into the Hall of Fame by his mentor, Dr. Dre.
The producer’s speech found him speaking on why he signed Eminem, saying, “I knew that his gifts were undeniable. Each of us was what the other one needed– and I was willing to bet my entire career on it.”
When Eminem hopped on stage to give his acceptance speech, the rapper spoke candidly about how drugs almost derailed his career and how music saved him. “I almost died from an overdose in 2007, which kind of sucked because — Hailie, plug your ears — because drugs were f**king delicious. And I thought we had a good thing going, man, but I had to go and f**k it all up and take too many,” said Eminem. Watch above.
