Reports surfaced noting rapper Hurricane G passed away at age 52. The rapper was known for her work with Erick Sermon and the Def Squad/Hit Squad camp, and Erick Sermon confirmed the news.
Hurricane G, born Gloria Rodriguez, made appearances on songs and albums from Redman, Keith Murray, Xzibit, and more, including Puff Daddy. Rodriguez appeared on the Bad Boy leader’s single “Public Enemy 2000,” which included a massive Spanish remix.
The news of Rodriguez’s passing was confirmed by Erick Sermon, a collaborator, and father of her child. Via Instagram, Sermon said, “My heart is hardened today. One of my good friends…. my oldest daughter’s mother, passed away today #HURRICANEGLORIA was also a legend in her own right in the Hip-hop community. One of the first Puerto Rican female rappers.
