When Palmer Luckey was 16 years old, he was considered a boy genius. The young inventor began constructing VR Headsets long before they became popular among mainstream consumers. His innovativeness eventually led to the establishment of his very own company, Oculus VR, three years later in 2012. In 2014, the company would be acquired by Facebook in a move that soon landed Palmer squarely on Forbes' Richest Entrepreneurs Under 40 List. The young innovator might be on the brink of making history once again, but his recent breakthrough in the tech/gaming world has the public wondering if he's gone a bit too far.
In a recent blog post, the founder of Oculus recently revealed that he had made progress in creating a new headset that is so realistic it can actually kill a gamer that has them on during a game. According to Palmer, his "NerveGear" will have the potential to release deadly modules into the brain of a gamer, assuming they'd be bold enough to play. The concept was reportedly inspired by an anime called "Sword Art Online."
