Aaron Rodgers has won just as many regular season MVP Awards as Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen combined. The future NFL hall of fame quarterback signed a record-breaking three-year $150 million contract extension with Green Bay Packers during the off-season. While the transaction all but guaranteed that Rodgers would finish his career with the team that drafted him, it also put a significant dent in the Green Bay Packers salary cap, which was part of the reason the team was unable to bolster the offense after the departure of five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, Davante Adams. Now, Devante is with the Las Vegas Raiders (2-6), and he seems unhappy with the direction of the organization. Meanwhile, back in Green Bay, Rodgers is having a down year, statistically, and the Packers are off to their worst start (3-6) since drafting him.
The Green Bay Packers are in the midst of a five-game losing streak, during which time Aaron Rodgers has provided the media with several post-game interview clips that indicate his displeasure with his wide receiving corps. With his favorite target, Davante Adams, long gone, Rodgers has even suggested his young wideouts weren't prepared enough and that his team's playbook should be simplified. This has caused a bevy of criticism from his former teammates and several pundits in the media, such as Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe, and LeSean McCoy.
In a recent episode of Speak on FS1, the latter voiced his displeasure with Rodgers by hurling insults during a segment about the Green Bay Packers. The topic at hand was why Rodgers had chosen to be so vocal about upper management's lack of ability to provide him with more support on the offensive side of the ball.
"It almost seems like he's tired of talking," said the host of Speak, Emmanuel Acho. "Eventually, when you run on deaf ears, it's like 'I'ma just talk.'"
"At what point, Joy, are you not tired of being sick and tired?" Acho continued as he looked at his co-host, Joy Taylor. "If you're Rodgers, aren't you tired? Tired of not having an alpha!"
"I'm tired of him," McCoy said as he chimed in from his seat next to Acho. "That guy's a clown, man. Big clown...this guy."
LeSean McCoy is the Philadelphia Eagles' all-time leading rusher and one of the newest additions to the panel on Speak. In this segment, the entire panel of four also broke down the importance of building team rapport when a veteran football player such as Rodgers is the leader of a young team.
