Nas recently dropped ‘King’s Disease III,’ and ultimately dissed former collaborator Pete Rock on the album. Rock previously threatened to file a lawsuit for royalties amounting to $1 million, with his lawyer saying he hasn’t seen a payment in years.
The news seemingly went viral, as many hoped Nas and Pete Rock would collaborate on more music in the future. In the song “30,” Nas said, “Superhero material, rap star status / Premier album still might happen / I wonder why Pete Rock would act like that / That type of behavior makes me give rap right back.”
Pete Rock hopped on Twitter to respond, saying, “I will be deactivating my twitter sooner than soon. so whatever I’m trending about I DO NOT CARE… y’all have a good evening to all my real fans that genuinely love ya boy get ready for a barrage of the dopest music your gonna hear in hip hop. Peace!! Strong Producer.” Take a look above.
