Yung Bleu dropped his song “What Type of Games,” which features a sample from DMX’s classic song “How’s It Goin’ Down” off his ‘It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot’ album. While Bleu seemingly paid homage, the rapper faced backlash for sampling DMX.
Bleu took to Twitter to address the reactions, saying, “I understand that’s such a great song, and it will never be duplicated, no matter what, by any artist! Classic!”
The artist continued saying, “I’m paying homage! And mainly bringing more income to his estate at that! That’s what matter to me, long live X.” Bleu concluded by revealing he talked to DMX before his passing, saying, “We talked on the phone 2 weeks before his passing.” Take a look above.
