In wake of the recent firestorm of controversy surrounding Kanye West and Kyrie Irving for offending members of the Jewish community, the latter has received the most sympathy because he is known as a peaceful person who doesn't have a track record for conflicting with others, outside of the world of sports. He's currently serving a suspension from the Brookyln Nets (6-8) for re-tweeting a link to Hebrew to Negroes: Wake Up Black America before failing to “unequivocally say he has no antisemitic beliefs.”

The nature and harshness of Kyrie's suspension have been the topic of debate the past few weeks, garnering commentary from the likes of Joy Taylor, Shannon Sharpe, Skip Bayless, and Shawn King. An old video of Kyrie sharing his thoughts about society, oppression, and discovering himself recently went viral. Kyrie posted the video just before the start of the NBA season, and it resonates like an eerie prelude for the events that followed in the weeks that followed.
