In this clip, former drug lord, Freeway Ricky, reflects back on giving a motivational speech at a high school in South Central Los Angeles. The 62-year-old reveals that at one point during his speech, he made a point to mention three books of importance: Think and Grow Rich, The Richest Man in Babylon & As a Man Thinketh. Freeway Ricky then explains why he was so surprised that the high schoolers didn't even bother to take notes or write down the books that have been so pivotal in his life. This prompts DJ Vlad to share that he's currently helping kids learn how to read. From there, the two discuss the fact that Freeway Ricky didn't learn how to read until he went to prison. Then, the two men talk about the societal issues involved with kids from the inner city who cannot read.
