Earlier this year, rapper B.G. was denied a compassionate release from prison for the third time since 2021. However, Birdman went on Instagram Live and claimed that B.G. is supposed to be released from prison in a “few weeks.”
A motion was previously submitted by another prisoner on behalf of B.G., and the motion argued that the 2021 letter submitted wasn’t meant to be a legal motion. The letter was meant to express the rapper’s displeasure with the attorney who handled a prior compassionate release motion.
Another compassionate release petition was denied by a judge earlier this year, which was signed by Gary Payton Sr., Birdman, Slim, Wendy Day, and other hip-hop executives and public figures in the entertainment world.
As of now, B.G.’s current release date from prison is April 7, 2024, from the FCI Herlong facility in California.
