According to reports, George “Papa G” Pryce, a former publicist for Death Row Records, has passed away.

Papa G reportedly played a crucial role in the rise of the storied record label. The publicist was also given another name by Snoop Dogg, who referred to him as “Papa G Hollywood.” This was due to his ability to turn artists into celebrities.

Pryce was known for working closely with acts associated with the label like Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, Snoop Dogg, and 2Pac. The death of Pryce was announced by Ronald “Riskie Forever” Brent, an artist who designed 2Pac’s ‘The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory’ album cover.

Riskie took to Instagram and posted “RIP Poppa G.” Another Instagram post found Riskie saying “‘All Eyes on Me’ was the first time I met Poppa G when I painted the insert for the album. He was good at what he did When we hung we hung and took field trips everywhere but when he went to work he went to work….He kicked me out his office a lot.” As of now, a cause of death for Pryce has not been revealed.
