In 2020, battle rapper Serius Jones was sentenced to three years in prison after he took a plea deal in order to settle a human trafficking case in Contra Costa County, California. It was noted the human trafficking charges were dropped, and the rapper had to pay $6,000 in restitution. Now, news surfaced noting the rapper was caught ditching a gun in the bathroom of a restaurant in Bergen, New Jersey.

The 41-year-old rapper, whose real name is Saleem Bligen, reportedly fled after officers responded to a call at an apartment building he used to live in on Bergen Avenue this past Thursday.

According to Lt. Art Jensen, officers searched the business district nearby and found Serius Jones at a local restaurant. The rapper saw the police and dipped off into a bathroom before he came out and spoke to Officer Kenneth Knebl. Jensen noted that the officer searched the bathroom and found a fully-loaded 9mm P320 handgun on the window sill.

Police also found a small number of prescription drugs, along with hollow-point bullets. As a result, Serius Jones was arrested and hit with weapons charges, including being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Bligen was taken to the Bergen County Jail while waiting to appear in Central Judicial Processing Court. Stay tuned for more updates.
