Kanye West recently faced backlash for his latest comments related to the Nazis, with the rapper’s account on Twitter being suspended following his posting of a swastika on the platform. Since then, Akon made an appearance on Sky News, where he was asked about Kanye. The singer seemingly showed for West to express himself freely.
Akon was asked why he would show support for West, with the singer said, “I show support for opinion and I think people will always have a specific opinion, and I think the moment we get to the place where we close our minds up to other people’s opinion, it kind of doesn’t allow us to get to better know each other better know our mindsets and more than anything better know our movements.”
The singer noted that if he had the chance to speak to West, he would note that he doesn’t agree with the producer’s views. Watch his complete statement above.
