Akon recently sat down with Sky News to discuss his partnership with TikTok. During the interview, the singer was asked about Kanye West and the anti-semitic comments he previously made. “I show support for opinion, and I think people will always have a specific opinion, and I think the moment we get to the place where we close our minds up to other people’s opinion, it kind of doesn’t allow us to get to better know each other better know our mindsets and more than anything better know our movements,” said Akon. Since then, the singer took to Twitter to clarify what was said in the interview.
Akon reposted a portion of the interview and reiterated what he said on the show in a caption, saying, “I clearly do not agree with Kanye’s remarks about Hitler. I am simply saying that everyone should have the right to their own opinion. Doesn’t mean we will always agree.” Take a look above.
