Gervonta "Tank" Davis and Ryan Garcia have been on a collision course for quite some time. The online feud between the two undefeated lightweight boxers came to a head when the latter allegedly had his chain snatched by the former in a nightclub incident. Amid the behind-the-scenes antics, their promoters at Mayweather Promotions, Golden Boy Promotions, and Showtime are said to "have a deal in place" for the fighters to square off for the first time in Las Vegas sometime during 2023. However, the highly anticipated showdown has not been finalized yet.
On Saturday, Gervonta Davis (27-0) and Ryan Garcia (23-0) added another online spat to their rivalry. Shortly after Tim Tszyn (a professional boxer from Australia) shared a photo of his workout with Ryan Garcia on social media, Gervonta implied that his rival might be on the juice. He then hinted at what he'd do to Ryan if his suspicions were proven.
“No funny sh*t,” Davis wrote to the photo of Garcia standing next to Tim Tszyn. “If I find out he’s cheating it’s gonna be a problem, and it’s gonna be more than boxing problems...[on my momma]!”
When a Twitter user chimed in and asked Gervonta to elaborate, the champ said the following.
“He never looked that big before {he's] definitely on something...sh** DAZN already proved they don’t [give a f*ck] about testing.”
The WBA Lightweight Champion continued with his rant about Ryan by calling out DAZN and making accusations aimed at Eddie Hearn (a boxing promoter in the UK).
“And why they didn’t banned Eddie [Hearn] for still trying to have fights after he knew a fight[er] was cheating and still try to continue [with] the boxing match?” Tank asked while referencing a situation involving Chris Eubank Jr vs. Conor Benn.
In response, Ryan Garcia took to Twitter to defend his honor by refuting Gervonta's accusations before revealing that in addition to complying with all of the champ's terms, he's also willing to get tested for PEDs. In the spirit of their ongoing rivalry, Garcia also took a verbal jab at the champ by implying that he is scared.
"I don't even take supplements...lol," Ryan wrote.
The undefeated California native continued, "Spooked hahahaha."
Lastly, Ryan got down to business by reiterating his seriousness about doing whatever Gervonta's team required to make their fight official.
"Also they never asked to do any [Voluntary Anti-Doping Association] testing. I'd be willing to do whatever testing someone wants to do. I already accepted everything you wanted. Why wouldn't I accept that??"
