On Saturday night, Raul Rosas Jr. became the youngest fighter to claim a victory in UFC history. Upon defeating Jay Perrin in round 1 of their bout via submission, the 18-year-old high school student improved his MMA record to 7-0. Shortly after the match, Joe Rogan, the popular color commentator for the UFC, hopped into the octagon to interview the victorious fighter on making history. What happened next was pure gold as Rosas Jr. played to the live audience and expressed the pride he has in his community before sending out a friendly message to  Dana White, the president of UFC, about getting paid.

"Shout out to everybody that came to support me," said the high school senior. "I love you! Everybody from Mexico, I appreciate everybody, and man...they say I'm living the dream right now, but Dana [where's my] 50G's! I would ask Santa Claus, but I don't know if Santa Claus can give it to me right now after this fight, but hey, I  need them 50G’s so I can buy my mother a minivan, and she can give me a ride to the PI [UFC Performance Institute].”

According to reports, shortly after the fight, Rosas. Jr. was paid the $50,000 bonus reward that he earned. The post-fight recognition did not stop there as Conor McGregor, the biggest Pay-Per-View draw in MMA history, took to Twitter and wrote, “Paul Rosas- great debut, watching you !”

In response, Rosas Jr. shared his thoughts on getting a shoutout from the UFC legend.

“I appreciate that because I don’t feel like he gets the respect that he deserves, Rosas Jr said. "He took the sport to the next level, and I’m trying to take the sport to the next level...Right now, no one is close to what he’s done. He did a lot for the sport, and nobody is close right now, so I really appreciate that coming from him.”
