A new report from Rolling Stone alleges that Kanye's love for Hitler is nothing new. According to the article, sources close to Kanye say they remember him professing his love for the Nazi leader back in 2003 when he was working on his debut album, The College Dropout.

According to an unnamed source around Kanye during this time, the budding rapper would quiz people in the studio "daily" about their knowledge of Hitler and the Nazis. Another source recalled a 2015 business meeting with Kanye, where they alleged that he called Hitler a "marketing genius" within the first 15 minutes of the call. The source stated, "In my 25-plus years of being in the workforce, I've never heard anybody say that name out loud in a business meeting."

When the source tried to shift the conversation away from Hitler, Kanye reportedly told them, "No, [Hitler] really understood how to mobilize people in a way that no one ever has." The source told Rolling Stone, "Hearing that, it's almost unfathomable that anyone would call [Hitler] anything other than a murderer," adding it was "without question the most disgusting thing I've heard in my lifetime."

One person stated that they felt like Kanye "used those techniques to get to where he is," adding, "He was just so fascinated by [Hitler] — someone that can have complete control over people and how he did it."

The source continued, "It’s not a stretch to now compare Kanye’s ‘by any means necessary’ methods and tactics with Adolf Hitler’s. To know that a Hitler/[Joseph] Goebbels playbook has been a central inspiration to Kanye’s own media playbook helps bring a great deal of clarity to the exact types of moves he’s been making over his career."
