Earlier today, DJ Vlad posted a series of tweets about his thoughts concerning Gunna's recent plea deal, where he pleaded guilty to a state RICO conspiracy felony. Vlad referenced a video where Gunna states that "YSL is a gang" and "he has personal knowledge of members of YSL committing crimes in furtherance of the gang."
In the tweets, Vlad stated:
Here's my take on Gunna. In exchange for getting out, he confirmed YSL is a criminal gang & said he was in a car with Young Thug when they found drugs & guns - and they didn't belong to him. This will likely be used by the DA to convict other YSL members.
Having one of the top guys in the organization confirm YSL is a gang and that he saw members commit crimes will probably be one of the main points for the DA to prove the overall RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) and charge 1 person for other people's crimes.
When he said that he was in the car with Young Thug and the guns and drugs weren't his, the DA is one step closer to proving that they belonged to Thug. The DA probably has a reason for having him mention this part.
Lil Duval tweeted "nobody should pin snitch on Gunna unless Thug say it". But until Young Thug is either free or sentenced, he can't speak on Gunna because that will be witness intimidation - since Gunna is now a witness on record in Young Thug's RICO case.
After those tweets were posted, Gunna's lawyer Steve Sadow contacted VladTV to address the statements about his client.
Gunna's lawyer Steve Sadow exclusively told VladTV:
In the statement that Gunna made in court, he acknowledged what he had to, but none of his statements are admissible against others in this case. The State is not permitted to use out-of-court statements as evidence in the RICO case. The State will not call him as a witness because he will use his 5th amendment. This neutralized Gunna to keep him out of the case. He is no longer part of this case.
In terms of his statement, Gunna was not specific in terms of which crimes he saw other YSL members doing - it may have been as trivial as smoking marijuana. No defendant would be so foolish as to call Gunna as a witness because they don’t know what he would say and he would take the 5th anyway.
Regarding Gunna's statement about getting arrested in the car with Young Thug, Gunna stated that the guns and drugs were not his. Gunna stating that those items are not his doesn't mean Young Thug is guilty. Thug will probably make the same statement about the items not being his as well.
The deal I made for Gunna has "built in every protection for everyone". It doesn't hurt anyone that still involved in this case.
If Gunna didn't take this plea deal, he would have waited 6-8 months in jail only for a jury to find him not guilty.
