According to reports, YSL co-founder Walter Murphy has also reached a plea agreement ahead of the trial against the alleged gang.

Murphy entered a guilty plea Tuesday and will receive one year commuted to time served of his 10-year sentence with the remaining 9 years to be served out on probation.

The indictment alleges that Murphy was involved in an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2013, in addition to an attempted murder involving four different victims in 2015. He is also being named as one of the YSL co-founders alongside co-defendant Trontavious Stephens.

In a recent interview with local Atlanta news outlet Channel 2 Action News, Murphy insisted that YSL is not a gang. “I would rather say it’s more like a record label or a family,” Murphy said. “Once upon a time I was actually a road manager on that label.”
