Following the release of their joint album, ‘Her Loss,’ 21 Savage and Drake went viral after a meme popped up showing what fans called “Sassy Drake” in spoof character footage showing the Canadian rapper prancing around a mock-up version of 21 Savage. Now, Drake has addressed the viral meme, noting he laughs at himself.
During his ‘Drake x Stake’ stream, the rapper said, “I understand after all these years that, I feel like I have a polarizing presence. I’m almost a character in people’s movies, and therefore, there’s a running dialogue. There’s jokes. You’re either the villain to some people or hero to some people.”
He continued saying the jokes “comes with the territory.” From there, Drake noted he can take a joke, saying “But ultimately, I’ve just found a way. I’ve always been able to laugh at myself, but I really do feel now that I mentally am able to separate the two. So I just want to stay in that zone, that’s kinda my resolution.
