In this clip, Van Lathan weighed in on the ongoing feud between Gabrielle Union and Boosie over Zaya Wade’s transition. Van made the point that as bizarre as this situation is, it could be a moment to reorient how the black community views LGBTQ+ issues within the black community and why he believes parents of trans kids are faced with supporting their decision or risk burying them because of rampant suicide and susceptibility to violence.
