Law officials in South Korea have lifted the country's restrictions on importing full-size sex dolls. After years of legal resistance from international importers and several of their citizens centered around sex, privacy, and an individual's right to enjoy recreational practices in private, the government has agreed to a compromise with a few guidelines. Therefore, government officials will no longer seize human sex dolls at the airport, as the products will now be allowed through customs. The initial ban was intended to prevent international importers from "[harming] the country’s beautiful traditions and public morale."

On Monday, Korea's Customs Service announced their amendment of the original prohibition. The decision continues to receive staunch pushback from women's rights organizations, who view the usage of these dolls, most of which appear to have female anatomy, as degrading and disrespectful.
