The NBA has witnessed a slew of games this season where players are notching gaudy numbers, many doing so in a fashion never before seen in the league.

One of the rarer performances came on Monday night when Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell dropped an eye-popping 71 points against the Chicago Bulls. With Monday's scoring barrage, Mitchell becomes only the 7th player in league history to score 70 or more. The list includes Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, Devin Booker, David Thompson, David Robinson, and Elgin Baylor.

Mitchell stole the night but other stars around the league had impressive scoring nights such as a 54-point performance from Klay Thompson, a 43-point outing for LeBron James, and 44 from DeMar DeRozan.
