Update 01/10/2023 11:41am:

Tory Lanez recently hired famed attorney David Kenner to represent him in his post-conviction motions. Many outlets reported that Kenner represented Suge Knight in his most recent trial that sent him to prison for the hit-and-run incident that killed Terry Carter.

Law & Crime reporter Meghann Cuniff broke the news about Kenner representing Tory, and she spoke exclusively with Kenner, who denied that he represented Suge in his trial.

"I just got off the phone with Tory Lanez’s new lawyer David Kenner, and it’s clear to me that people need to stop assuming he represented Suge Knight in the case that put Suge in prison. He didn’t! He represented him in a robbery case back in the 1990s and got him probation. Kenner is unhappy that so many hip-hop blogs etc are saying he was when he actually wasn’t."

Kenner also told Cuniff that he represented Snoop Dogg in his murder case, and Kenner revealed that he has a video of Snoop at his 80th birthday party saying, "Without David Kenner, there'd be no Snoop Dogg."

Kenner will be tasked with replacing George Mgdesyan, after a two-week trial, from late December to early January, in the city of Los Angeles ended with Tory Lanez being convicted on all charges relating to the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion (in the foot). The aforementioned legal proceeding featured a number of unexpected subplots, such as witness tampering allegations, the sudden disappearance of Megan Thee Stallion's security guard, accusations of fabrication on the stand, and more.
