Previously, YNW Melly took to social media to reveal that he is in fear for his life. The rapper posted a message on social media detailing his experience while being locked up. “As of this moment today, I am officially in fear for my life. A new captain named Hubert and XO Jenkins has taken over the jail for two weeks now and have handed out even harsher punishments for me than the previous ones in place,” said the rapper.
Melly then said he dealt with deputies who threatened to “beat my a** every day.” Others involved in the case, like YNW Bortlen, previously found himself arrested for violating a bond release in 2021. Since then, alleged audio surfaced of Bortlen speaking about the shooting.
In the audio, Bortlen can be heard being asked by another person about the shooting. He responded, "I’m trying to make sure I don’t get hit. And you’re telling me about this- I don’t know, you know what I’m saying? I’m driving… S**t crazy, bro.” The person in the background then begins explaining that if he was saying is true, then the details surrounding the situation would add up. Listen above.
