Tay-K (Taymor McIntyre) gained countrywide popularity back in 2017, when he dropped a track called "The Race" while he was being hunted by law enforcement for a murder that stemmed from a home invasion. After months on the run, the platinum-selling rapper from Texas was captured by authorities in New Jersey. Two years later, he was convicted of murdering Ethan Walker and sentenced to 55 years behind bars. He remains at Bexar County Jail, located in the city of San Antonio (Texas).

Tay-K has been vocal about his case as of late. A few weeks ago, he took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the unfairness of his lengthy sentence due to the fact that he was only a minor when the criminal act that he was allegedly involved in occurred.

"I bet if I was a lil white kid they wouldn’t have gave me no 55 years for a crime I was alleged to play the most insignificant role in when I was 16….they woulda rightfully argued that my mind wasn’t fully developed and gave me rehabilitation and a 2nd (1st) chance at adulthood."

Yesterday, the 19-year-old tweeted about the inadequate conditions at Bexar County Jail and the way he is being treated by the staff.

"They’re literally treating me like a ferret in here rn," Tay-K wrote. "I feel like a hamster in here."

Although he's already serving a 55-year sentence, Tay-K is also awaiting trial for a second murder charge regarding the shooting of a 23-year-old man named Mark Anthony Saldivar.
